Sri Ramachandra Water Sports Centre (SWSC)

Sri Ramachandra Water Sports Centre (SWSC) is Asia’s first floodlit rowing course. A 650m man made lake within the campus of Sri Ramachandra University just adjacent to the Centre for Sports Science facility, SWSC is the ideal water sports centre to cover any suitable water sport. It is equipped with an adequately large boathouse and a full fleet of new fibre glass racing craft. The water body is among the cleanest in Chennai with artificially created fresh water that permits aquatic life.

The rowing centre is a unit of SRCSS. Rowers can now take advantage of training at SWSC with the strong performance enhancement that SRCSS provides with it’s sports science expertise.

SWSC is affiliated to Rowing Federation of India (RFI) and Tamil Nadu Amateur Rowing Association (TARA)

SWSC has already hosted & also conducted national rowing competitions such as Sub Junior & Challenger Rowing Nationals 2016, 19th Sub Junior & 1st Inter State Challenger Sprint National Rowing Championships 2016, National Sub Junior Rowing Camp 2018, Master Nationals 2018, 21st Sub Junior & 3rd Interstate Challenger Sprint National Rowing Championships 2018.
