The sports scientists at Biomechanics division of CSS bring to the fore the strength of sports biomechanics research, which is the ability to establish an understanding of causal mechanisms for selected movements for example the role of internal rotation of the upper arm in hitting or striking.
In today's competitive Sport, the difference between winning and losing is getting slimmer by the day. The Biomechanics Lab at CSS helps to achieve a competitive edge through analysis and identifying strengths and weakness of sportspersons and suggesting remedial measures to correct defects if any.
Biomechanics is the study of human movement, using principles of mechanics & applied anatomy. Its main role in Sport is to:

Biomechanical analysis has become an on-going and continuous process in guiding Sportspersons through their rigorous requirements to stay at their best physical shape. The Biomechanics Lab complements the Injury Rehabilitation and Performance Enhancing Programs available at CSS. The motion analysis lab is housed in a spacious, air-conditioned, flood lit hall with a TRUTURF surface suitable for any sporting activity 24x7 throughout the year. A full length Sports pitch equipped with:
- Twenty VICON T- series cameras along with
- Two High Speed BONITA Video cameras
- Fourteen 14 AMTI force plates spread over batting and bowling areas
- Sixteen channel MYON Wireless EMG system
These collect and send a host of invaluable information with regards to the various forces to which the Sportsperson is subjected and the related muscle activity through the most advanced and latest NEXUS software. This set up, one of the first of its kind in the world, will enable simultaneous real-time analysis of sporting actions similar to the actual play environment with high precision. It will also enable precise analysis for sports like tennis, badminton, hockey, soccer, basketball, etc. A complete set up for 2D video analysis of the players paired with SILICON COACH Software is also available. The results of the analysis will be evaluated by the international experts and a comprehensive report will be presented through platforms like the user friendly POLYGON software to the management. The data would be preserved in our servers to enable long term follow-up and review of the person's future course of action.
CSS has also partnered with BATLogic Systems Pvt. Ltd., Australia who are the pioneers in rowing foot biomechanics and can greatly aid in performance enhancement and injury prevention of rowers using proprietary instrumented foot stretchers on the ergo meter as well as on boat
