The department is active in research with various completed as well as current research projects. Apart from self-funded projects, they have been funded by national and international organisations also. A few salient projects among them are:
- “Cross Cultural comparisons of Encoding Self- Adaptors and Biomechanical Parameters” (Lerverhulme Trust, UK funded project)
- “Chondrocyte culture on 3D Collagen scaffold and their Characterization In vitro and In vivo” funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. Of India
- “Ex vivo culture of chondrocytes in a 3D Novel Thermo Gelatin Polymer scaffold-characterization experimental in-vivo transplantation in animal models” funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India
- “The Etio-pathogenesis of Anterior Knee Pain in Indian patients: A distinct group to the Western population”
- Effect of blood pressure regulating gene polymorphisms on the endurance capacity of athletes
- Scapular Dyskinesia and its role in the Shoulder Injuries in Cricket fast bowlers
The Central Research Facility of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) will play a pivotal role in assisting the Sports Scientists of our country to carry out meaningful research in this field.
